Easy 2 Learn Phase III

Easy to Learn (E2L) Phase III is a three-year education project working with 17 primary schools in Chhloung District, Kratie Province. The project aims to improve children’s learning outcomes by strengthening the quality of primary education, with a particular focus on early-grade reading and mathematics. It seeks to create learning environments where children can build strong foundational skills and receive the support they need to learn and progress.

Aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education and Cambodia’s national priorities for human capital development and quality education, the project promotes more inclusive and equitable learning. It strengthens teachers’ professional capacity, improves safe and child-friendly learning environments, expands access to digital and supplementary learning resources, and provides targeted assistance for children who need additional support.

Building on the foundations and lessons of previous E2L phases, Phase III takes the project a step further by focusing more strongly on how these investments translate into lasting improvements in learning. In practice, the project brings together teacher mentoring, classroom observation, student learning monitoring, and targeted learning support. Activities such as Peer Tutoring, Reading Champion, support from Cham Learning Assistants, and individualized assistance for vulnerable students help ensure that children who need extra support are not left behind. At the same time, the project strengthens school-based management and works closely with education authorities to support sustainable improvements in teaching and learning.

By working through Cambodia’s existing education systems and aligning with Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport initiatives, including the Primary Learning Program (PLP), E2L Phase III aims to embed effective practices within schools, communities, and government systems. In this way, the project seeks not only to improve learning in the 17 target schools, but also to contribute to stronger and more sustainable primary education systems.
