Boeung Trabek - Child Development Project

The Boeung Trabek Child Development Project (2025–2028) is a transformative initiative designed to break the cycle of poverty for vulnerable children living in informal settlements along the Boeung Trabek canal. Facing severe gaps in early childhood education, nutrition, and safe caregiving, these children lack the foundational support needed for healthy development.

At the heart of our intervention is the Green Umbrella Child House, a comprehensive care and learning hub serving children aged 0 to 11. Through this center, we provide age-appropriate educational support—including whole-day care for toddlers (ages 2–4), school readiness classes for five-year-olds, public school enrollment campaigns, and after-school supplementary learning for early primary students (G1–G3). This is coupled with infant nutrition programs and regular health monitoring to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, survive, and grow with dignity.

Going beyond direct childcare, the project builds long-term family and community resilience. We actively engage caregivers through targeted training in positive parenting and basic health, while the provision of reliable childcare allows parents to pursue economic opportunities. By strengthening local systems and building the capacity of the Commune Council for Women and Children (CCWC) in case management, we are creating a nurturing ecosystem where vulnerable families can build brighter futures.
